Carbide Cannon Festival

          There is a traditional event called Carbide Cannon Festival (Festival Meriam Karbit) in Pontianak. It's only happen on takbiran night at Kapuas River. It's a tradition to welcoming Idul Fitri. Carbide Cannon Festival held from H-1 to H+3 on Idul Fitri.

         The Carbide Cannon Festival in Pontianak has a unique cultural background. Carbide Cannon game has affinity with history of the founding Pontianak City. Long time ago in 1771, it was used by Sultan Syarif Abduurrahman Al-Kadrie to expel Kuntilanak who roaming on land.

          This cannon made of wood with a diameter of approximately 50-100cm, with length of between 4-7 meters. In the middle of the cannon was given a hole.

         Before using it, cannon filled with water and insert the carbide to hole. Carbide which reacts with water can produce the gas concentration in a narrow place will cause an explosion. The voiced is very big.

         Many domestic and foreign tourist are fascinated with carbide cannon game in city of Pontianak. For tourists, the game like a obviously something that's so rare.

My Guitar

I have an old guitar. It's a acoustic guitar. The colour is black. Although the guitar is old, but the voice still good. I like to play melody. Just the simple melody, because I'm not too smart. :D

The Guitar is my favorite item. Because, with I play the guitar, I feel enjoy. So, it's can to help if me bored. I can playing guitar since about 6th years old. And I hope I can to be a professional guitarist. Aamiinn

Previous, my name is Dicky Juniawan Putra. I was born in Ciamis (West Java), 3 June 1995.
I'm student in Senior High School number 1 in Pontianak. I'm very proud can study in this school, because not all people can study in here and one of favorite school in West Borneo. There, I can into the science class. And I hope can to compete and I must into the big ten rank in this class. :)


My purpose on this blog are to do the task by my english teacher, to learn creat a excellent blog and the last I want to fix my vocab and grammar to be better again. :)
